Hills lie varnished in pearl
Under a low winter’s sun
Rich halcyon peace, still
Far away from steel urban
Raw symmetry polished
In hazy colours of gold
Alight the sleeping copse
In waxen wishes untold
So steal away footprints
Upon the lonely, pale grass
Touch winter’s jewelled magic
Upon heaven’s looking glass
